Aliens UFO ET

Now here's a thought.  Humans have inhabited planet earth for 10s of thousands of years and have evolved in that time to what we are today. What if, and it's a huge what if....what if there was another civilization, or maybe even a few different civilizations living on this planet from millions of years ago and were quite happy flying around in their flying saucers making huge megalithic structures all over the world, until one day we show up with our large brains and take over the world. It could have been that the aliens as we call them today are actually earth's original inhabitants and we, the humans are just a recent addition. What do you think?

Paralyzed

Paralyzed   By   David Binelli   David Binelli © All Rights Reserved. 2022     Is it over already? That’s weird, mind you, it is the first time I’ve had to have an operation. The surgeon said it wouldn’t take long. They use keyhole surgery to do knee ops now. There was a time when I’d have a huge scar across my knee to have a cartilage operation done. How times have changed. I know I’ve been under anaesthetic but I imagined I would be able to open my eyes and see something by now. Hang on. My eyes are open. All I can see is a blank whiteness. Why does the whiteness move with my every breath? It’s a sheet or something over my face. I can smell something. It’s aftershave. Why can I smell aftershave? ‘Steve. Are you ...

Odyssey Bender

Odyssey Bender   By   David Binelli   David Binelli © All Rights Reserved. 2022   I’ve experienced the most incredible things that you can ever imagine. I’ve traveled across the universe to galaxies that humans don’t even know exist. I’ve surfed the rings of Alpha Dinus in a ship of glowing Delisium with creatures that will suck the soul from your consciousness as soon as drink your blood. I’ve flown through Sintius B, a red dwarf star, with nothing more than a Star Rider ship and an environmental suit made from the skin of a Shartoz Braverox. I’ve been through a black hole into dimensions that shouldn’t exist while having every atom in my body torn apart and reassembled leaving the very essence of my lifeforce itself outside my fragile carcass of a carbon-based lifeform. I’ve had my thoughts dragged kicking and screa...

Time

Time - What is it?  We all live and die by it, yet we have no idea what it actually is.  Time is something that we can set an alarm for so it wakes us in the morning after a tortured sleep, to remind us the meat in the oven is ready, or to meet our best friend in the local coffee shop, but it's also the bane of our lives. Time steals our youth from us all. It makes our once crystal clear and smooth skin, become riddled with wrinkles that seem to grow in number by the hour. Our thick and wavy hair becomes thin and brittle and for some, it disappears forever.  Our razor-sharp mind so quick to remember faces and familiar sounds becomes slower with each passing day, leaving us unaware of what is actually happening around us and clouding our thoughts with confusion and frustration. Our sight loses the ability to focus properly over the age of forty or so, meaning we have to wear visual aids like spectacles or contact lenses just to read the label on a ketchup bottle or r...

The Lonely Badger

The Lonely Badger   By David Binelli ©2022 DM Binelli. All Rights Reserved                    2440 words  Every night, just after dark, a young badger called Brian would slowly poke his black and white, stripy head out of his set. He would look this way and that to check it was all clear, and if everything was to his satisfaction he would climb out into the darkness of the field around him.  Badgers have always lived below ground because it’s safe and secure and away from prying eyes. They use their powerful front paws to dig into the soil making a network of tunnels with many underground rooms just like humans have in their houses….a bedroom, somewhere to eat, even a room where the family can just sit and chat…a real home from home. Badgers call their secret home a set. Brian was very shy, so he only came out when it was dark and everyone else had gone to bed....

The Jackdaw with a broken wing

The J ackdaw with a broken wing   By David Binelli ©2022 DM Binelli. All Rights Reserved                    2068 words     On the edge of a lovely garden in a village not too far from here there lived a family of Jackdaws high up in an oak tree. Under the oak tree was a small white garage with its roof covered by a thick layer of moss. Many of the local birds loved to walk up and down the garage roof, rummaging through the moss looking for juicy insects and throwing big lumps of mud and old moss onto the driveway below. One fine and sunny day, some of the young Jackdaws were playing noisily, high up on the boughs of the oak tree when the youngest, Johnny, missed his footing and slipped. He tumbled down through the branches franticly flapping his wings and trying to grab hold of a branch, a leaf, anything…but with no luck. Seconds later he landed on the ...

The Magpie with the bald head

The Magpie with a bald head By David Binelli ©2022 DM Binelli. All Rights Reserved                    1540 words 1 for sorrow 2 for joy 3 for a girl 4 for a boy 5 for silver 6 for gold 7 for a secret never to be told Our story begins in a bird's nest high up in the branches of an enormous Oak tree. It was a magpie’s nest built of twigs and small branches, lined with mud to keep the wind out, and lots of soft, curly moss to keep every magpie and the eggs warm. In this nest, mother magpie had laid 8 small eggs. They were all pretty much the same size and blue in colour with olive-green spots. She would sit on the eggs day and night, occasionally turning them with her beak so they all took turns being at the top next to her soft, warm feathers.  The trouble was, there were 8 eggs in the nest and she kept missing the egg at the very bottom. That poor little egg hardly ever got turned and was stuck upside down all the time. The ch...

The Mole who wouldn't eat worms

The Mole who wouldn’t eat worms By David Binelli ©2022 DM Binelli. All Rights Reserved                    1610 words Mike is a mole and he lives in a hole. He’s been a mole for as long as he can remember. Like all moles, he lives underground in a tunnel that he digs with his big front paws…in fact they’re so big you could almost call them paddles. He uses his strong claws to dig away at the mud and then pushes it behind him using his back legs to move himself forward. When there’s too much soil in the tunnel he forces it out onto the grass above. You’ve probably seen small piles of mud in a field or in the middle of your lawn at home…..these are mole hills...some could even Mike’s mole hills. All this hard work digging and pushing soil around makes Mike a very hungry mole. Generally most hard working moles love to eat earthworms. Big fat juicy, slimy wriggly, earth worms. But here’s a funny thing….Mike has always eaten earth worms...
